Playtech expands production of casual games
Playtech has introduced a plan to expand its presence in the online casual games market, after completing the acquisition of Funtactix.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but the statement made by Playtech revealed that this purchase is the main core of the company’s long-term strategy. Its implementation began with the creation of Plamee studio back in 2014 and the acquisition of Yoyo Games last year.
The long-term strategy of the company
As part of Playtech, Funtactix will continue to make partnerships with the owners of intellectual property rights and to publish products under the «FTX Games» brand. But more information on development projects and individual games will be announced in the near future.
Meanwhile Shimon Akad, operating officer of Playtech, said: “The Playtech’s Department of casual games has a clear strategy and direction, and we are quite confident that it will continue to be strengthened. Acquisition of Funtactix after the deals with Plamee and YoYo Games allows us to offer a complete set of content and software players, designers and third parties, including the major studios with global brands.”
